If you are ready to toss out inwanted products, check the laels first to find out if they contain the words: DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION, POISONOUS, COMBUSTIBLE,CORROSIVE, TOXIC, FLAMMABLE, or other similar words.. If they do, this could mean they are hazardous and should be disposed of at the hazardouswaste facility in Vacaville. For more inforation go to www.vacavillesanitary.com
- Never rinse paint brushes or containers off on the driveway
or on the street. If using water-based paint, rinse in sink.
If you must use oil-based paint, clean with thinner, filter the
rinse water, then reuse it. Dispose unwanted thinner at the
household hazardous waste facility.
- Take unwanted pesticides, fertilizers, paints, pool chemicals
and bleach to the household hazardous waste facility. The
HHW facility is located at the Vacaville Sanitary Service
Recycling Center, 855 1/2 Davis Street in Vacaville. No
appointments are necessary for this service. The center is
open on every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Never pour anything down a storm
drain!
- Recycle batteries from cell phones,
laptops, calculators and other
electronics.
