When trash like food wrappers, cigarette butts and plastic bags, end
up on or near the street, they can be washed into the storm drain
system, when it rains, when watering the lawn or from washing the car.
Once trash is washed into the storm drain system, it flows untreated
to the nearest creek, river, the Bay and eventually the ocean,
contributing to the pollution that already plagues these waterways.
- Never throw trash in the gutter or the storm drain.
- Place litter in trash receptacle.
- Recycle. Recycle. Recycle. Click here for more information on how
to recycle.
- Participate in Vacaville's Creek Clean-up. This event builds awareness among your neighbors and spreads the message that your community is made up of good environmental citizens. Click here [coming soon] for more information.
